Sharing a brief outside Mallin

The PDF, the email, and the customer-safe deck link, and which is which.

Three ways out, and they show different things to different people. A brief names real people at the prospect and says what you think of them, so it is worth knowing which is which before you send anything.

The PDF

The brief as you see it, for your own use, a manager, or a colleague joining the call. It is the internal version. Everything you can read in Mallin is in it.

Emailing a brief

Mallin sends it to whoever you name. Mail cannot be recalled, so read the brief before you send it and check who is on the line. There is no open or click tracking on these, deliberately.

The deck link

A public page built from the brief, for the customer. Anyone with the link can open it without signing in, and it carries the customer-safe version: every internal field is dropped before the page is built, so what you think about the deal never appears on it.

Add a call transcript first if you can. Without one you get the basic deck, which is thinner.

Managing a link you already sent

Action What happens
Rotate Issues a fresh link. The old one stops working.
Revoke The existing link stops working immediately.
Views A rough count. It may include link previews and security scanners, so do not read too much into a view that arrives seconds after you send.

The rule of thumb. PDF and email are for your side of the table. The deck link is the only one built to be read by the customer.
